The Yummiest Choc Chip Cookie Recipe!

It's no secret that we have a love for all things sweet at Changing Seasons, and our sugary obsession extends to our other major love in life- candles and self-care. So, we thought why not celebrate one of the best days in the year, International Choc Chip Cookie Day! We've tried just about every cookie over the years as a team (the average person eats around 35,000 cookies in their lifetime), from gooey centred cookies, to triple choc crunch, caramel cookies and oatmeal cookies, we've indulged in them all. The best part about cookies, though, is by far being able to share them with friends, and because our Style Sisters are our friends and family, with every $50 spend on August the 4th, we are giving away a mouth-watering, delectable cookie for you to enjoy! Also, why not celebrate the day at home by burning one of our deliciously smelling candles like Oatmeal Cookie from Woodwick, Bakery Cupcake or Cafe Sweets, or Movie Night from Glasshouse.
Here's one of our favourite and ever-so-easy, choc chip cookie recipe's for you to try at home!
Ingredients
  • 150g butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup caster sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 3/4 cups plain flour
  • 1/2 cup milk chocolate bits, plus 1 tbsp extra
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate bits, plus 1 tbsp extra

Method:

  • Preheat oven to 180C or 160C fan-forced. Line 2 baking trays with baking paper. Using an electric mixer or whisking by hand, beat butter and sugars , and 1-2 minutes or until smooth and well combined. Beat in egg and vanilla until combined.
  • Stir in flour . Stir in dark and milk choc bits . Roll 2 level tablespoonfuls of mixture into balls and place on prepared trays, 3cm apart. Press down slightly. Decorate with extra choc bits.
  • Bake for 15-18 minutes or until light golden and cooked. Transfer to a wire rack to cool. Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week.

Enjoy!
